What is Monty Space?
Monty is a subscription service for your home. We provide everything from desks to sofas and provide simple, hassle-free delivery and installation. Our mission is to make it simple, flexible and convenient for people to create homes in cities. Our aim is to do this in a manner that reduces our impact on the environment.
What are the benefits of subscribing to furniture?
When you subscribe to furniture you get access to great quality furniture as and when you need it. Our customers have told us that with Monty they get to use better quality furniture than if they were to purchase furniture themselves. When you’re unsure for how long you will need furniture, which is very common among people today due to changes to how we live, the only option before Monty was to buy cheap “fast furniture” that is only designed for one time use. This isn’t very good for the planet as it means a huge amount of furniture ends up at landfill every year (in fact it is estimated to be 9 million tonnes annually across the EU!).

What furniture does Monty Space currently offer as part of its subscription?
We offer everything you need to turn an unfurnished flat into a home. This includes items such as sofas, chest of drawers, coffee tables and clothing rails. You can check out our full range here.
What will the moving process be like if I used Monty Space?
Our focus is to make sure our customers have a seamless move in experience. We can deliver and install on the most convenient day for you, and do all the heavy lifting while you get on with your life. Come back from work to a full furnished home! All we ask is that it is clear where you want the furniture so that we can install your home exactly to your requirements!
Can I subscribe to decor, kitchenware and electronics?
We offer kitchen packs, including toasters and kettles, but to be honest electronics aren’t really our things, for now. We’re focussed on developing our hard furnishings range to ensure you have plenty of choice to create your perfect home.
Is Monty Space a home staging company?Our furniture is for living and we want people to use it to create their dream homes. Having said this, our furniture can be used however you see fit. If you’re selling your home and you want to use our furniture to make it look more attractive for buyers, feel free!
How does a subscription with Monty Space work?
We’ve made taking out a Monty Space subscription as simple as possible:
1. Choose the furniture you want from our selection online
2. Choose how long you want the furniture (initially between 3-12 months but you can always change this at a later date)
3. Check out by adding in your shipping and payment info, and select an installation date.
It is as simple as that! You will get a dedicated Monty account manager that you can contact to swap or add additional items, or to change the duration of your subscription.
Are there any minimums to my subscription?
The minimum monthly Monty subscription cost £99, and the minimum subscription term is 3 months. If you would like the furniture for less than 3 months please get in contact and we will do our best to work out the best solution.
When will I be charged? When does my subscription officially begin?
During the checkout process you will be charged for the first months subscription. After this your monthly billing date will be the same date as your installation date.
What if I need to cancel my subscription before the original end date?
No problem. If you need to cancel your subscription earlier than anticipated, simply contact us and we can help you by simply adjusting your payments to how many months you did have the furniture. Specifically, Monty will reassign your monthly subscription cost to match the revised subscription length. For example, you subscribe to Monty for 12-months at £200 / month, but things change quickly and you need us to pick everything up at month 9 (and a 9-month subscription for those same items would have been £220 / month, so a £20 difference), then your final payment to Monty on month 9 will be that final £200 PLUS (£20 times 9), or £180, for a total of £380. The amount paid simply makes up for the difference between the 9 and 12 month subscriptions, but still saves you from paying through to the end date for the original subscription.
What if I move in the middle of my Monty Space subscription?
If you want to move your Monty Space items from one space to another during your subscription, just let us know! We can move the items for a one off £99 fee (the amount it costs us).
Can I buy the furniture at the end of my subscription and how much would it cost?
Yes! We make it as easy as possible to purchase the items you want to keep. At the end of your subscription, we’ll send you an option to buy any of your items at retail cost, less the amount you paid over your subscription period.
What happens at the end of my subscription period?
At the end of your subscription we will get in contact via email to schedule a collection day, to offer you a new discounted subscription or do you let you know how much it would be to buy out your pieces. It is completely up to you and should you require the furniture to be collected, we will do so at the most convenient time for you.
What happens if I decide I don’t like a piece or two of furniture when my delivery arrives?
If for whatever reason you’re not happy with your furniture we can come back within 2 working days to swap any items completely free of charge. We want to make sure you’re happy with your Monty Space furniture.
Can I swap my furniture in the middle of my subscription?
You can swap out any items or items for a flat fee of £99 at any point during your subscription. Simply contact your dedicated account manager who was assigned when you took out your Monty subscription.
What sort of payment types does Monty Space accept?We accept all major credit and debit cards. Your safety is our number one concern, and Monty is fully compliant with all banking and financial regulations.
Where is your furniture from?
We choose our partners very carefully so that we are consistently delivering high-quality, stylish and sustainably-sourced furniture. You will notice that some of our furniture are from brands that you love such as Swoon, John Lewis & Partners, Made.com and Sofa Workshop.
Is my furniture always new?
Some pieces are brand new, and some have been lightly used, but all come to you in an as new condition. Any furniture delivered to you has the Monty seal of approval, which means it has met our strict furniture criteria. Any furniture that has been used goes through a rigorous re-manufacturing process to ensure all pieces meet the same high standard. As examples, our sofas go through an 8 step treatment process and our tables are sanded, re-treated and polished.
Can I see Monty furniture in person?
I’m afraid right now we don’t have any physical spaces you can visit right now, but by mid-2019 we should have a showroom for you to visit. If you’re a subscriber we’ll let you know when this is live, if not make sure you sign up to our newsletter to stay updated with our news.
Does your furniture ever end up in landfills?
Our furniture will never end up at landfill. We started Monty to provide an alternative option to “fast furniture” as we recognise that the large amounts of furniture that go to landfill and incineration every year is a massive issue for the planet. Eventually we want to fully close our production loop so that no furniture is wasted and we are as sustainable as possible. Any gently used furniture that doesn’t meet our strict Monty “good as new” standards after our remanufacturing process is donated to a growing list of shelters and charities.
How carefully should I treat the furniture I am subscribing to?
Furniture is for living in - so we encourage you to live in your furniture! We want Monty to help you create your perfect home. Treat the furniture as if it were your own–eat on it, sleep on it and let your friends use it. Try to respect it (just like you would if you owned it!) but don’t worry about surface-level stuff.
What happens if I accidentally break or stain an item?
Don’t panic, we know that life happens! We only offer upholstery that is commercial grade and made for living. We can typically get most stains out to make furniture look as good as new once we receive furniture back at the end of the subscription. For more extensive stains or damages, please contact us so we can discuss and evaluate next steps.
Is your furniture kid and pet friendly?
We want the entire family to be able to enjoy your Monty home, including your two and four legged friends.
What if I want to subscribe to a piece of furniture that I can't find on your website?If an item we carry is currently not on our website, it’s out of stock in our warehouse. Feel free to contact us, describing the piece you were missing, and we’ll see if we can get you an estimated replenishment date. If it’s not an item we carry, we’re currently not able to offer it in a subscription. However, we are working with our partners to expand our offerings and inventory. Have a suggestion? How much does delivery cost?
Delivery of your furniture is free for subscriptions over £50 per month and includes assembly in the rooms of your choice, and removal of packaging.
What is the delivery experience like?
We strive to make the delivery and pick-up process as seamless as possible. At check out, simply select your ideal delivery date and within 48 hours you’ll receive a call or text to give you a 3-hour window for expected delivery on your selected delivery day. Depending on the number of items, we’ll do our best to be in and out in one hour, so you can get back to the more important things in life.
How quickly do I receive my furniture?
We work fast! Delivery takes about 7 days or less, and we deliver Monday through Saturday. Of course, we’re flexible so we’ll make sure to schedule a delivery time that’s convenient for you.
Do I need to be home for the delivery?
We need to be able to gain access to the property, so whether that is you or a friend, or someone else who is authorized to be in your home on your behalf during delivery, that is absolutely fine. We can also collect your keys from a nearby location, and we recommend using KeyNest to leave your keys at a nearby shop. Simply let us know when we reach out to confirm delivery via email or phone, or in the “Special Instructions” section in the checkout.
Does Monty pick up my old furniture?
Unfortunately, we’re only able to pick up Monty items, however, we suggest reaching out to your local charity.
